Chris Hjortnaes, LMFT
Chris is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Chris received her Masters of Science degree in Psychology, with a concentration in Clinical Counseling, from California State University, San Bernardino.
Chris provides a warm, calm, non-judgmental, supportive and safe environment. She believes the therapy session is the client’s and she moves at a pace that is comfortable for each individual client. She instills hope and understanding; that each client will feel like they are not alone on their journey to wholeness.
Chris uses various techniques and therapeutic methods which are tailored to meet the client’s specific needs. She works collaboratively with her clients to help find solutions or better coping methods for their struggles. She likes to build on strengths that are already present within each client.
Chris has experience working in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, relationship rebuilding, and self-worth, in addition to other areas.
Chris offers services for individuals (18 years and older), couples, and families. She is LGBTQ-affirming and works with a variety of cultures.
Spirituality is an important part of Chris’s life and she welcomes anyone who wishes to make this a part of their therapy experience.
